"During the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, America was at the height of her power, prestige, wealth, and influence. She was host to the greatest military the world has ever known or fought against. She was feared and revered by her enemies and her allies. Great symbols from Wall Street to Main Street boasted of her great economy. Her inventors, engineers, and machinists led the industries that mattered most.
"She was home to many of the great philosophers, teachers, preachers, theologians, thinkers, and writers of the world. Yet, amidst her vast intelligence, her great expositions, her tremendous oratory skills, she was unable to convince her people to follow God.
"In fact, her citizens, said its religious teachers were crazy to teach there was only one way to God. They cried, "Crucify!" not to their long-awaited Messiah, but to those who professed the Messiah. She wanted so badly to be at peace with everybody that she was at war with herself. She tried to please the world, only to have the world hate her. Her sons were mocked and spat upon for claiming there was absolute truth, right, and wrong -- so they were outcasts labeled 'dangerous fundamentalists.'
"America had read the pages of history in her schools' text books, but her children did not realize those pages contained revised history. Her grandchildren were taught about Pilgrims who merely ventured to form a new colony, not to form a new colony for the glory of God and the advancement of Christianity. Her great-grandchildren read about the Christian beliefs and backgrounds that formed her great Constitution that gave protections to so many. She forgot to tell them the truth.
"Not only did America forget, but her children forgot. She was so steeped in protections that she was most vulnerable to infections that all living within her borders had the right to pursue any belief he or she desired. And as a result of forgetting history, America forgot God. Her children forgot God. Her grandchildren forgot God. And her great-grandchildren forgot God. America kicked God out of her schools, out of her government, out of her society, and out of her borders.
"And because America forgot God, God forgot America. He decisively removed His hand of blessing from America and caused its borders to be weakened, invaded by armies from the North, the South, the East, and the West. The country that was at once the head, quickly became the tail; that was the yesterday the leader, became today the slave.
"She fell to the hands of her captors. Her allies no longer trusted her word. Her creditors demanded from her the debts she promised but never paid. Her armies became like ants -- numerous, but annoying and pathetic. Her people killed each other. Her adults slaughtered her unborn children. Her men gave up on their families. America died. But, alas! If only America had remembered. How great she might be today."
(The year 2110 textbook account of the fall of America, as our children will read it.)

Wow! Very powerful...great historical piece one day to explain the demise and death of a relatively young nation so prematurely.
ReplyDeleteWell, hopefully it's not prophetic. Our house-church is now watching "The Truth Project" and we were considering the altered histories we're taught in schools. Grieved over it, this came to mind.
