If it's true that one should train the way he's going to play the game,
then I get the feeling there are going to be a lot of people losing.
"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."
- The Apostle Paul – 1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Very thought provoking way to put that...never thought about it that way.
ReplyDelete(On a sort of side note...when I run...I'm a scenic viewer...I look at the sunrise and the deer and the road kill and the flowers. It kills my dear husband who says if he's going to run...he's got a time to beat. He always wants to know how far and how fast I've gone...I'm like..."I dunno.") :) Let us pray God doesn't allow my other "run" to be like this.
