In either case, an effort is required of us.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08334880347109220874noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36151286.post-7724893120360838862011-12-17T22:18:00.906-05:002011-12-17T22:18:00.906-05:00I understand what you're saying, and largely a...I understand what you're saying, and largely agree with the main idea. Christians are often guilty of "waiting on God", or begging him for things that He has already given us, without taking action. I do like the song however, and Casting Crowns. I don't claim to be a musician, but I appreciate songs that mean something.
I think we as men were made to be the leaders, protectors, providers, and lovers of our family. I don't see a problem with Christians asking God to help them live in reality of what is true of them, or what He has given us. As long as we understand that he has given us these things already. I think of the man in Mark that said "Lord I believe, help my unbelief." I also think of the book of Ephesians which spends the first three chapters telling us who we are in Christ, and all that He has done for us, and what is true of us. Then in chapter four he begins with encouraging us to "walk worthy of our calling." All of the richness of our identity in Christ is ours, but we still can chose to walk in it, or not. If I am to live my life by faith in Jesus to live the life he meant me to (Gal 2:20) then there are times where I ask him change me, or rather, produce his life in me more. That is the way I take the phrase in the song. The difference is positional (what is true of me) vs. conditional (what is being lived or played out)

We CANNOT however just sit back and expect God to wave a wand. We need to walk, and make choices, and take action.Wesley Chadekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04458261676094699515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36151286.post-16293250506074385432011-12-17T21:25:03.169-05:002011-12-17T21:25:03.169-05:00This was perfectly said Mike!!This was perfectly said Mike!!Shaun Davisnoreply@blogger.com
