I have his book on the disciplines and Dallas Willard's. Was greatly inspired by both.

My friend is a pastor and he has is part of a small group going through the SF Workbook. He loves it! His group loves it! But it does not sound like this particular book is worth my time. I've enjoyed everything I've ever read by Richard Foster and his writing has helped me want to read more of the writings, and look at more of the practices, of the Believers who came before me. Along with some others, Foster started a group called Renovare; this group publishes some resources that help Believers spend some time looking at the spiritual practices of those who came before us. Back in the early 90s James Bryan Smith and Lynda Graybeal put out a booklet-type workbook entitle "A Spiritual Formation workbook" designed for small groups where the participants look at some of the basic Christian traditions such as contemplative, holiness, charasmatic, social justice, eveangelical, and incarnational and begin to practice these traditions.Tracyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15692160455833039396noreply@blogger.com
